What is History?

History is the series of events or facts that is connected with somebody or something. It is the study of change over time. It deals with all the aspects of human society. It covers Political, social, economic, scientific, technological, medical, cultural, intellectual, religious and military development. In short, it is the study of social life of the past. It is the story of man's past. It is based on inquiry and evidence. It is that branch of knowledge that records and explains the past events. It develops an Understanding of the World. Through this branch of knowledge, we can learn how past societies, systems, ideologies, governments, cultures and technologies were developed; how they were operated, and how they have changed.
